Synopsis

Wizardry I & II contains the first two episodes of the Wizardry series: "Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord" and "Knight of Diamond". Both games were ported to the PC Engine (TurboGrafx) CD console with various improvements, not released separately. In fact, the two games are merged into one, with the player being able to play both games continuously, directly from the main menu.
Although the games are fairly faithful to the original computer versions in gameplay and graphical design, the improvements are significant enough for this version to be considered a remake. As in the NES/Famicom version, the dungeons have simple graphics, unlike the computer originals with their vector lines. Enemy sprites are also more detailed and take up more of the screen.
From the start, a group of six predefined players is available, consisting of characters with generic names ("Fighter", "Samurai", etc.); However, the creation of your own characters (unlike the modified version of Might and Magic from PC Engine on CD) remains possible. Navigating the dungeon is accompanied by orchestrated audio CD music in this version. The battle music is in PSG format.
