Synopsis

Kinsenka Ky Ezara Satsujin Jiken is based on a series of novels by Japanese crime writer Misa Yamamura. The popular protagonist of the novels, Inspector Sōsuke Kariya, appears in the game as a character; But the main heroine and main character is Yuko Kobayakawa, a journalist working for a food magazine. During a trip to Kyoto, she attends a party and witnesses the mysterious murder of a rich man's wife. Yoko decides to stay and help the authorities investigate the crime.
The game plays like a puzzle-free Japanese-style adventure. Most of the time, the player chooses a location to go to and questions the characters, selecting various topics from a list. These scenes are presented in the first person. A few segments, however, feature third-person navigation with point-and-click interaction, similar to Western adventures. In other cases, the player must move a cursor over a zoomed-in object to interact with it in detail.
