Synopsis

Zak McKracken is a journalist. Well, journalist, that’s quick to say. Let's say he works at the National Inquisitor, a San Francisco gossip columnist. Zak has other ambitions: to write a book and, let's dream a little, win the Pulitzer Prize. His boss grants him some time off, once he has written an article about a two-headed squirrel seen in Seattle (NB: Ron Gilbert seems to be fascinated by multi-headed animals). Without knowing it, Zak will discover that under their big hats and their fake mustaches, the employees of the local telecommunications company are extraterrestrials who use telephone waves to brutalize the earth's population in order to enslave them. He will have to stop this plot with the help of Annie, a researcher, and two of her students who left for Mars with a makeshift space van following one of their dreams!
