Synopsis

Zan: Yasha Enbukyoku is a turn-based strategy game that uses feudal Japan as its setting.

This game takes place during a battle involving noble warriors, called yasha, and demons. Between the two camps are "the middle people", a faction made up of other generals and leaders. The player can decide to embody the yasha, the demons or the people in the middle.

The player will have to manage his army, deploy units in defense or attack, or negotiate with other leaders. During the game, certain events (earthquake, plague, etc.) will occur randomly. Diplomacy doesn't always work so battles against enemies represent a large part of the game. Battles take place turn-based: the player chooses through a menu what action he will perform (attack, use magic, use a special technique, choose a combat formation, etc.).
