Zap't'balls
Synopsis
Zap't'Balls is best known for its technical innovations. Amstrad experts would think it was working on a Plus, as what appear to be hardware sprites move smoothly at full speed. However, this was designed on a classic CPC by forming a stack in the video RAM itself, a technique achieved by disabling interrupts.
The game itself is similar to Pang. One or two players have 80 screens of balls to clear, by pulling a rope vertically so that a ball hits it. When doing this, the screen splits in half (half clears), unless it is at the smallest size. Each screen must be cleared within a specific time frame. Contact with a ball costs the player a life.
