Synopsis

Zavas sets itself apart from Japanese RPGs by resembling a Western-style RPG like Ultima. While retaining the typical Japanese manga/anime aesthetic in graphics, Zavas bears little resemblance to Japanese RPGs in other aspects. The player controls a knight named Mardy in the medieval fantasy land of Fargana, and he is free to go anywhere, explore the world without following a fixed storyline. The world, from top to bottom, is made up of vast wilderness and cities.
nnThe similarity to Western RPGs is evident in the detailed management of the player-controlled party. In addition to the usual management of weapons, armor and items, the player must also purchase food to keep his characters alive. Some interactions with NPCs offer choices. Enemies appear randomly. The turn-based combat is very similar to that of the Ultima games.
