Synopsis

Ziriax is a futuristic side-scrolling "shoot-'em-up" in a futuristic environment, similar to R-Type. The player controls a spaceship-like device that attempts to survive amid fire from hostile ships and other enemies. The game has five stages, each containing a boss fight at the end.

Small spheres are dropped by enemies; their collection grants the ship controlled by the player various bonuses. These include two additional small ships above and below the main ship, the ability to fire backwards, and missiles that can be fired diagonally.
