ZorkQuest: The Crystal of Doom is the direct sequel to Assault on Egreth Castle. The gameplay system is identical to that of its predecessor, retaining the option for the player to follow the narrative from a single character's perspective or to "switch" to a new character. Thus, the player can reread the story and discover new elements about how the different paths taken by the characters influenced each other, as well as the outcome of the story as a whole.
