Synopsis

Zybex is a side-scrolling shoot'em up. Players take on the role of prisoners trying to escape from a galactic prison. At the end of each level, they earn a crystal, giving them access to subsequent levels. The ultimate goal is to capture the Zybex crystal, which offers amnesty to the prisoners, Cassalana and Rinser. The weapon system fires continuously, and the fire button allows you to change weapons. The basic weapon is the Orbiter, always in the player's possession. Picking up weapon icons increases a weapon's power by 1, up to level 4. Dying reduces the weapon's power by one level, or loses it if it is power 1 (except for the Orbiter). The more powerful the weapons, the higher their rate of fire and their projectiles. The five weapons are the Orbiter, 8-way, Railgun, Pulse (fires straight ahead and gets a diagonal shot at 3/4 power), and the Wall (another forward shot, gaining size).
