A versatile open-source N64 emulator (Mupen64Plus). The basis for many RetroArch cores, with support for various video plugins. It covers the following system: N64.

1. Installation

  1. Get the latest version from the project's official site.
  2. Extract the archive into a dedicated folder.
  3. Launch it once: it will create its configuration and subfolders.

3. Good to know

  • Set up your controller on first launch: it saves you the most time.
  • Save states let you resume exactly where you left off, in addition to in-game saves.
  • On these systems, raising the rendering resolution noticeably improves the image; scale it back a notch if it lags.

4. Not working?

  • The game doesn't appear → check that its extension is among the formats listed above.
  • Abnormal display → try a different rendering engine in the options, and check your graphics drivers.
