Magical Girl: Silky Lip: Full English Translation of the Cult Sega Mega CD RPG Is Out Now

The Stargood translation team, led by hacker Supper with editing and testing support from cccmar and Oddoai-sama, released a complete English translation of Mahou no Shoujo: Silky Lip on July 6, 2026, an adventure game with RPG elements originally published in 1992 on Sega Mega CD by Riot, the in-house label of Telenet Japan. Renamed Magical Girl: Silky Lip for the occasion, the game draws inspiration from the "magical girl" anime series of the 1970s and 80s, blending exploration, character stats and turn-based battles.

Beyond the full text and subtitled voice translation, the patch bundles several fixes aimed at modernizing the experience: faster walking speed, quicker text scrolling, an added in-game map, and an overhaul of some of the original Japanese version's clunkier menu mechanics.

"I've been trying to put together a Mega CD translation project for a long time, since before I was even working on PC-Engine CD games," says Supper, who highlights the technical challenges specific to Sega's 16-bit CD add-on. The patch and its source code are both being made available for free by the team.
