The NX Redux custom firmware for TrimUI handhelds moves to version 1.13.0, adding an adjustable UI scale, a new look, and fixes for Dreamcast and netplay.

NX Redux, the NextUI custom firmware fork built for the TrimUI handheld lineup (Brick, Smart Pro and others), has just moved to version 1.13.0, released on September 28, 2026. The update arrives just a week after 1.12.0, which brought full RetroAchievements support for Dreamcast and added Genesis Plus GX as a second Sega core.

Version 1.13.0 focuses on the user experience: a new adjustable UI scale lets you fit the menus to each device's screen, alongside a general visual refresh of NX Redux and more readable arcade game names, previously truncated or showing raw codes. Controls for the bundled Dreamcast emulator have been fixed, along with handling of overly long IPTV channel lists, which used to crash the interface.

Offline RetroAchievements and game tracking on the menu

As a reminder, NX Redux leans heavily on RetroAchievements with full offline support: achievements unlock and get cached even without a connection, syncing automatically once Wi-Fi is back, in softcore mode only by the developers' design choice. This release also fixes search issues and netplay stability problems over mobile hotspots.

The firmware is a free download from the NX Redux GitHub releases page, and a full installation guide is available in the official documentation.
