A full PS5 jailbreak gets closer: Slopkit now targets firmware 13.60
The PlayStation 5 hacking scene is going through a particularly active stretch. The Slopkit project, which exploits a WebKit bug to open the front door of a PS5 jailbreak, originally covered firmwares 9.00 to 12.00. Scene developers, including couldbeautism, have since submitted new offset files covering more recent versions, up to the 13.60 firmware currently running on updated consoles.
A complete jailbreak, however, is not just about WebKit access. It also requires bypassing the console's kernel, a role assigned to a component called Slopsploit, as well as the hypervisor through a module named Slopervisor. A proof of concept for this hypervisor bypass has been demonstrated on firmware 10.00, with 13.60 announced as the next target.
Still an experimental exploit, not a consumer-ready solution
Despite this progress, the developers themselves stress that the work remains experimental: at least one important value in each firmware profile still needs to be verified on real consoles, and additional components such as etaHEN and kstuff are still required before a working end-to-end jailbreak exists. No method that is both reliable and accessible to beginners is therefore available today to jailbreak an up-to-date PS5.
⚠️ Check the exploit's current status before attempting anything. This article reflects the situation as of September 22, 2026: no complete, stable PS5 jailbreak is publicly available, and the situation can change quickly in either direction. The most reliable tracking thread remains the dedicated topic on GBAtemp, updated as the community makes progress.
