Synopsis

"Baldur's Gate" is a role-playing game that uses the rules of Advanced Dungeons & Dragon (AD&D). You create your hero by choosing one of the available classes (fighter, thief, mage, priest, ranger and druid, including subclasses, dual or multi-class characters), their alignment, weapon proficiency, etc. For the combat system, a special engine called the Infinity Engine is used: the battles take place turn-based, but are so fast that the player has the illusion of fighting in real time. You can interrupt the battle at any time and assign commands (like spells) to your party members. You can also move them freely during battles. Set in the Forgotten Realms universe, "Baldur's Gate" is the first part of the saga which allows you to explore various towns and wilderness areas, undertake numerous side quests and find companions for your long journey.
