Synopsis

The Cotton series is a shoot 'em up developed by Success with a long history of releases in both arcades and video game consoles. In the series' debut in 1991, the Cotton games helped establish the visual style of shoot 'em ups. Instead of the warships and battlefields typical of most shoot 'em ups, Cotton's games put players in control of a broomstick-riding witch and task them with battling through magical haunted realms. Cotton's games have appeared on a variety of consoles, including the NEC PC Engine/TurboGrafx-16, Super Nintendo, Mega Drive/Sega Genesis, Sega Saturn, PlayStation, Neo Geo Pocket Color, and Dreamcast. There is also a pachinko game featuring Cotton available for the PlayStation 2. Most recently, Cotton appears as a hidden character in the Nintendo DS game Rondo of Swords.
