Synopsis

Dai Gyakuten Saiban: Naruhodou Ryuunosuke No Bouken takes the Ace Attorney series back in time. The player plays Ryûnosuke Naruhodô, an ancestor of Phoenix Wright living in the Meiji period, who is studying to become a defense lawyer. Over the course of five cases, he gains practical experience of law and begins solving puzzles with the help of Sherlock Holmes.

The gameplay follows the traditional style of Ace Attorney, with a few new features. As in Professor Layton vs. Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, cross-examinations can sometimes involve multiple witnesses. Hearings now take place before a jury, which has the power to interrupt the proceedings and return a verdict at any time. Fortunately, Ryûnosuke is allowed to make a closing argument which may result in the verdict being overturned.
