Synopsis

Acclaimed for the quality of its game system and graphics, DoDonPachi is considered one of the greatest titles of its genre.

The player has the choice between three ships:

Type A, red ship: the fastest, it has a powerful frontal shot, it is also called a ducker.
Type B, green ship: intermediate movement speed, its advantage lies in the fact that it has 2 small options which will fire in the direction of your movement (example: you move to the left, the 2 options will direct the shots to the left).
Type C, blue ship: the slowest, wide and not very powerful shot, the most common ship among beginner players for its relatively slow movement which allows you to dodge patterns more easily, and its shot which allows you to destroy a large part of the enemies.

Everyone will then have the opportunity to choose between a shot mode and a laser mode. The first allows you to have a more powerful attack on the normal shot, the second to reinforce the power of the laser and destroy weak enemies with the first shot (the laser will destroy them automatically, it will no longer block).

2 bombs have their uses: a smart bomb which will destroy most weak enemies and which will cancel their shots, and a more powerful bomb, which is obtained by pressing the B button while using its laser with the A button. It delivers great power, a very large laser, which allows you to defeat a boss more quickly for example.

The ship's collision mask is tiny, around ten pixels wide. The game is made up of six levels, with their classic end bosses. Scattered everywhere are wasps that can be unlocked by shooting them with the laser. These wasps earn more and more points as you collect them.

At the end of the sixth zone, the game will restart in hard mode (second loop or 2d loop) under certain conditions (see below). After completing the sixth area of ​​the second loop again, a seventh area will be accessible. This area contains two extremely difficult bosses.

To access the second loop, at least one of these conditions must be met, at the end of the sixth zone:

Have not lost more than 2 lives.
Depending on the type of vessel chosen, have completed a chain of at least:
Type A: 270 hits.
Type B: 300 hits.
Type C: 330 hits.
Have a score greater than or equal to 50 million.
Have caught all 13 wasps in at least four areas.
