Synopsis

The game is based on the Advanced Dungeons and Dragons world of the Forgotten Realms. Dungeon Hack features a randomly generated three-dimensional dungeon; SSI claimed that "over 4 billion" different dungeons were possible. The game features a pseudo-3D gameplay screen based on the Eye of the Beholder series. Like Rogue, dungeons are generated randomly each time you start a new game. As a result, virtually no two game-generated dungeons are the same. That said, players can play identical dungeons by sharing game-generated "dungeon seed" codes. Dungeon Hack uses the mechanical rules from AD&D 2nd edition. Most notable about this game is the option to have an "actual character death", unlike other AD&D graphics games (such as Pool of Radiance). When enabled, restored saves are erased upon character death, just like in traditional roguelike games.
