Fever SOS
Synopsis
A shooter undoubtedly unique in its kind, the atmosphere of the entire game is bathed in the funky lighting of a gleaming disco ball. Whether it's the graphic style, ultra saturated and tangy, the incredible disco tracks that make up the brilliant soundtrack, the smart bombs in the shape of pink dancers or even the overexcited voiceover shouting "let's dance!!!" at all costs, no doubt possible: we are in the middle of Saturday night fever...
If the theme can be confusing, the production is no less excellent, taking up the main lines of DoDonPachi's gameplay, with the same quality in the graphic design. The levels are magnificent, the bosses are overwhelmed with detail... The whole thing is sometimes (disco obliges!) a little garish or disjointed, but that's more a matter of taste.
The player can choose from 3 ships, firing more and more widely, select their type of special shot (saws that aim alone, bombs or shield) as well as the movement speed of their machine. The smart bomb depends on the chosen ship. So many customizable elements that influence the way you play, and mainly... the speed of the ship. Indeed, Dangun Feveron is a somewhat fast game: a hysterical and wild pace, without a second of respite, a real concentrate of adrenaline and pure action.
To counterbalance the difficulty of the game and the frenzy of the enemies, the ship is equipped with effective armament (like in DoDonPachi, we drown in power ups, it spits severely from the start) and a microscopic collision mask, even for a manic. The “IT’S HAPPENING! IT’S PAAAAAASSE!” sessions. are legion =) The gameplay is therefore quite particular, depending quite a bit on the speed chosen, but the whole thing is surprisingly playable for such a furious game.
