Gaelic Games - Football
Synopsis
Gaelic football is a popular sport in Ireland. It is similar to soccer in that there is a goalie on each end, but it also has similarities to basketball since you can lift the ball off the ground with your hands, pass with your hands, etc. Players pass, kick and carry the ball to the other end of the field, and attempt to score while trying to avoid opposing players trying to grab the ball.
Goals are a little different from those in football: the player can try to kick the ball to deceive the goalkeeper and get more points, but he can also hit the ball over the goalkeeper's head, where the goalkeeper cannot defend, and get fewer points.
