Kirby's Dream Land
Synopsis
The gluttonous King Dedede has stolen all the food from the people of Dream Land for a midnight feast, so Kirby, a resident of Dream Land, goes to collect the food and stop Dedede. Kirby's Dream Land plays like other platform games from the 8-bit and 16-bit video game era: Kirby must use various natural abilities and sometimes external abilities or items while moving towards the objective at the end of each level. Like many platform games from the 1980s, the player can accumulate points, with an extra life granted when they have enough points. However, since Kirby does not have a save function, scores are not saved. Additionally, there are no save files, so the player must start again when the Game Boy is turned off, if they choose to return to the title screen after a Game Over, or if they reset the game. All levels play on a two-dimensional plane, allowing Kirby to move only left, right, up, and down. Kirby can walk, jump and fly. Kirby can also inhale objects and enemies, swallowing them, or spitting them out as projectiles.
