Synopsis
The first entry in the saga, released on NES in 1986 and available on the 3DS Virtual Console. Link freely explores the kingdom of Hyrule searching for the Triforce of Wisdom fragments to defeat Ganon and rescue Princess Zelda. A non-linear open world, numbered dungeons, and an iconic arsenal of items form a formula that became legendary. A foundational landmark of the action-adventure genre, scored by Koji Kondo.
