Synopsis

Medarot R is an RPG featuring characters from the Medabots franchise.

Battles take place on separate terrain on a turn-based basis. Each Medabot has separate health bars for the legs, arms and head. Defeating a medabot is done by destroying the head and each body part can have its own attack that players can use until the part is destroyed. Up to 3 Medabots can take part in combat and some attacks have limited ammo.

While sharing characters from the Anime series, the story is based on it and the story of the second Game Boy game. The game begins when Ikki wakes up on his birthday to find a Medabot in his room, a gift from his parents. Without a medal, the Medabot is useless. After seeing a store customer trying to sell his Medabot to the shopkeeper, Ikki is engaged in a battle with the customer and receives a medal from the Phantom Renegade so he can confront the pesky salesman.

Players will gain experience to upgrade their medals and earn new parts for their Medabots after winning battles. Players can also spend money on coins if they wish.

A unique feature of the game is the weather which is given by a Medabot and which gives clues about what will happen during the day.
