Synopsis

The Nakatomi company is looking for the pieces of the Akujiki sword, broken by Hotsuma at the predecessor, Shinobi. Fortunately, the Oboro ninja clan has since reformed. As Hibana, kunoichi (female ninja) of the Oboro clan, you are tasked with finding the pieces of the Akujiki before Nakatomi.
As a rift reopens between this world and the realms of evil, the slender and stealthy Hibana must battle demons from beyond to save the people of Tokyo. The heroine's ninja skills are combined with a deep understanding of the mystical arts, making her the last, best hope to keep the city safe and the evil contained.
While Nightshade's gameplay is similar to Sega's 2002 version of Shinobi (also developed by OverWorks), the kunoichi Hibana can perform a number of new special attacks never before seen by her male counterpart. Dancing in the shadows, she defeats powerful enemies with flashy finesse. An upgraded "Tate" system allows for unlimited combos, and filling her "Chakra Gauge" allows Hibana to perform powerful ninja magic.
