Synopsis

The player can choose from four campaign scenarios: “Battle for the East” (starting in 1560), “Struggle for Daimyo Power” (1560), “Untamed Ambition” (1571), and “Road to Unification” (1582). In each scenario, the player must allocate resources to build a capable military force, provide a productive economy to support military and civilian expansion, and support peasants to maintain their respect and loyalty. The game takes place in turns, with each turn on the map corresponding to a season and each turn during the battle corresponding to a day. The player can achieve victory by many means, including forcing the enemy to retreat, destroying the enemy command unit, surviving an invading force, or prolonging the battle until the opposing force has exhausted its reserves.
