Synopsis

Prisoner of Ice takes place in the 1930s, initially in Antarctica. The player plays a young American officer, Lieutenant Ryan, assigned to the British submarine HMS Victoria.
When the game begins, the submarine is sailing to Antarctica in order to rescue a Norwegian scientist who recently managed to escape from a German Antarctic base (it is mentioned later in the game that this base was built near the ancient ruins mentioned in The Mountains of Mind). The submarine, in addition to the Norwegian scientist, received two mysterious crates, stolen from the Nazi base. The Norwegian scientist seems to be in a state of shock, only muttering incomprehensible words, evoking under hypnosis a certain “Cthulhu”. It was then that a fire broke out on board...
Prisoner of Ice is an adventure video game released in 1995, based on the universe of the Cthulhu Mythos by writer H.P. Lovecraft, and more particularly on the novel The Mountains of Hallucinations. It is a “sequel” to the game Shadow of the Comet, published in 1993.
