Synopsis

Russia: The Great War in the East 1941-1945 is a turn-based war game on a hexagonal map. The player embodies the German Oberkommando des Heeres or the Soviet Stavka and leads the complete Eastern Front campaign during the Second World War (4 years, or 47 turns). Three shorter scenarios are also available (portions of the main campaign focusing exclusively on Army Group North, Central, or South).nnnnThe menu-based interface is similar to previous titles in the Battlefront Game System series, but has been modified for a strategic command (army group/army). Corps-sized units move under computer control, as you assign objectives (and stance) only to armies. An army corps can then be ordered to attack, defend, rest or retreat. The level of ground and air support (in points) can also be set.
