Synopsis

The Oregon Trail is an educational text-based strategy video game developed by Don Rawitsch, Bill Heinemann, and Paul Dillenberger in 1971. The game is designed to motivate students to become interested in the lives of pioneers on the Oregon Trail in the 19th century. The player plays a wagon driver who guides a convoy of settlers from Independence to Oregon City in 1847. On the road, the player must manage the convoy's supplies and overcome the difficulties encountered along the way.
