Synopsis

Treasure Island is a text adventure game, an adaptation of the classic Scottish novel of the same name published in 1883. Unlike the book, the game is written in the second person. Otherwise, it closely follows the original plot: the player plays Jim Hawkins and must perform the same actions as the character in the novel. This leads to a more claustrophobic design, as players unfamiliar with the book have to guess what to do next. To overcome this problem, other characters act as an online help system. The player can ask them questions about any topic and they will provide clues when they have them. The parser supports most standard Infocom features, such as pronouns and string commands.
