Synopsis

The game has two stories to play, one for Team Spike and one for Team Specter. Spike's story features the series' heroes gathering in Tokyo when they find out that Specter has teamed up with aliens and unleashed an army of his monkeys and giant robots to take over the world. Specter's story shows
Specter on vacation finding out that his monkeys have started to take over the world without his permission. He soon finds out that a Specter impostor has taken control of his army and he must ironically save the world to get his minions back.

The gameplay uses the action based style from Ape Escape: Pumped & Primed and mixes it with the usual platforming and monkey catching. Each mission has a different goal. Sometimes you will need to defeat a boss, other times you will need to defeat a set of Targets, defend certain characters or weapons that will help you throughout the game or just capture a set number of monkeys. Each mission containing monkeys has up to 100 available for capture and the more you capture, the more "Gotcha Points" you get.
